Dolphin Seafaris, leaving from Portimao
Marina and Lagos Marina.
This is a very interesting and impressive trip for
families. Groups are taken out to sea on "Rigid
Inflatable Boats", as used by coastguards around
the world. Powered by a turbo-diesel engine, the
exhilarating boat trip is worth the cost of the
ticket alone! After the short journey, you arrive
at a spot where dolphins have been recently
spotted. Seeing these animals in their natural
habitat is a wonderful experience. They have
been known to often play and frolic around their
human visitor's boats which is an impressive
sight. Although spotting dolphins while out at sea
is not guaranteed, the drivers always make the
trip an enjoyable experience.

Slide & Splash is considered to be the largest

great day out for all the family, catering for

Aqualand, near Alcantarilha.
Another one of the Algarve's water parks. This
particular one boasts "The Kamikaze", apparently
the highest water slide in Portugal - 92m to
ground zero in less than four seconds! If that
doesn't do it for you, then maybe the "Banzai
Boggan" will - dropping near-vertical 23m on a
board to then surf across a pool. Great fun.

Krazy World, near Algoz.
This park is the "Jack of all trades" of the
Algarve, part zoo, part amusement park, part
water park - Krazy World has them all. The Crazy
Golf courses bring out family competitiveness,
while the Amazonian live shows allow you to get
up close and personal with dangerous animals! If
that sounds too scary then the petting zoo lets
you get close to some not-so-dangerous animals.
Something for everyone!

Zoomarine, near Guia.
A very polished aquatic theme park, which
boasts extremely entertaining live shows run
throughout each day - dolphins, seal & sea lions,
tropical birds and birds of prey. For an additional
fee and subject to booking, a "dolphin
interaction" programme is available. Here you
are able to swim and interact with dolphins,
under supervision of course! As well as the
wildlife, there is a swimming pool (useful for
cooling off after a day walking around the
park), and a number of park-amusements.
Zoomarine has become a highlight for many
families visiting the Algarve, rightfully so. Highly
recommended!

Fishing Family Fun, leaving from
Vilamoura Marina.
This is something a little different...... Departing
on a catamaran equipped with fish-finding
equipment, you'll cruise out to sea to fish in the
morning. Then later, you'll move on to a beautiful
secluded spot, surrounded by beaches, cliffs and
caves. Here the boat will drop anchor, and it's
time to eat the catch of the day! If your fishing
skills weren't up to scratch - don't worry! Meat,
salad, bread, fruit and wine are all thrown in.
The trip finishes off with a leisurely cruise back
to Vilamoura along the coast.
